Actuarial Analyst
In this permanent role you will help ensure With-Profit bonus rates (such as final bonus rates, surrender / transfer value factors and estimated maturity values factors) are calculated and implemented correctly. You will also help to improve these processes; making them quicker, simpler to run, and give better customer outcomes.
You will also spend time answering technical policy queries from a wide variety of customers both internally and externally and may be involved in supporting projects that impact our existing business policyholders.
You will be required to go into the York office x2 days per week.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering timely and accurate calculations for both the Bonus process, and the wider team activities.
- This may involve updating the assumptions and benefits within Excel spreadsheets and checking the results are appropriate as well as maintaining and updating the team’s spreadsheets
- Answering policyholder queries from various internal teams and third-party admin teams, ensuring these are done to a high standard while timely in line with the team SLA.
- This may involve using defined methods or spreadsheets to perform the calculations or investigating which is the correct method.
- Testing output from IT systems to ensure correct values when assumptions change.
Skills / Experience Required
- Minimum of A level Maths, but ideally a Mathematical degree
- May have some actuarial exams, but not necessary
- Basic knowledge of life and pensions products
- Strong attention to detail and enjoys using excel
- Strong analytical and communication skills

- Salary between £26,000 – £36,000 depending on skills, experience and qualifications
