Retirement Associate
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Retirement and Investment Consulting business group within Aon’s Columbus Ohio Office.
Your Impact as a Retirement Actuary - Experienced Associate
Job Responsibilities:
- Pass actuarial exams (minimal requirement of one course per year)
- Solid administration and staff-level client relationships; developing some relationships with higher level client contacts
- Able to answer some client questions without reliance on lead actuary
- Completes some work through others (i.e. delegation)
- Prepare contribution requirements and accounting costs, with some oversight
- Update valuation runs for any changes and program provisions from scratch
- Interpret valuation results and provide initial recommendations to lead actuary
- Perform more complicated or review more simple pension benefit calculations
- Mentor/train entry level students
- Demonstrate flexibility to work additional hours on occasion when client needs instruct
- Draft original materials (e.g. letters, reports, discussion guides) with some guidance
Required Experience:
- 2+ years of actuarial work experience
- Completion of several exams
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Reconciliation of liability gains and losses
- Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
Preferred Experience:
- ASA or EA Designations
- Pension experience
- Valuation programming on ProVal system
- Basic knowledge of funding methods
- Minimum and/or maximum funding calculations
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics or Statistics or similar field

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$92,800 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
