Senior Pricing Actuary
The Senior Pricing Actuary accounts for pricing and pricing governance in assigned property and casualty markets and ensures compliance with global processes, methods and tools. He/She collaborates not only with the local pricing team, but also with other SCOR pricing teams and business functions. The non-life pricing team Cologne in which this position would be located takes care of Scandinavia, Netherlands, Germany and South Eastern Europe.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for in-time and high quality market pricing
- Develop local pricing models and benchmarks, collect market knowledge and data
- Advise local underwriting teams in complex and comprehensive actuarial matters
- Monitor and ensure day-to-day support for pricing, risk assessment for opportunities, governance and process compliance, feed the tools, and collaborate with Underwriting teams for delivery
- Participate in client visits to explain and discuss our pricing approaches / support underwriting
- Support business functions on product development (pricing, risk & profitability).
- Monitor and ensure pricing processes, governance, methods and tools
- Participate in development of pricing processes (guidelines)
- Initiate and actively participate in the evolution of global pricing methods and tools
- Develop training measures for underwriting teams with regard to methods, tools, governance and processes
- Ensure proper pricing risk management by monitoring of application of processes, e.g. via peer reviews

Qualifications
Experience:
- Longtime broad and sound work experience in (re)insurance with a focus on actuarial issues, and significant experience in pricing
- Experienced with statistical and/or actuarial methods
- Advanced IT skills of standard software (MS Office), preferably also in a programming language
Personal Competences:
- Excellent communication skills
- Personal competencies according to company values
- Comprehensive analytical and mathematical skills
- Very good command in English, German language skills would be an advantage
Education
- University degree/Master degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, equivalent other scientific discipline or finance qualification
- Membership in actuarial association/qualified as an actuary.
