Actuarial R Coder

Salary: £40,000 - £70,000

Fixed Term Contract until the end of 2024.

Are you someone who has experience with R, and looking for a new role? Then look no further – this role is for you!

A bit about the job:

The role will involve working in a small innovation team to build tools and improve processes in the wider Actuarial area. Tasks can be tailored to the individual, but could include:

  • Designing and building Shiny apps
  • Giving guidance to novice and intermediate R coders to improve standards across the team
  • Improving existing processes, and re-implementing existing Excel processes in R
  • Presenting complex data in useful ways
  • Developing new techniques for automating actuarial decisions
  • Liaising with business users to make sure any output meets business needs
  • Training business users in any new tools

No actuarial or financial experience is necessary for this role. In fact, it could provide the ideal opportunity for someone with a different background to learn about the insurance sector.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience of writing high quality R code is a must
  • The ability to work collaboratively with business users and other coders is also essential
  • Familiarity with Shiny is preferable

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Starting salary between £40,000 - £70,000 depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
