Longevity Pricing Analyst

In this role you will be contributing to all aspects of understanding, pricing and managing longevity reinsurance risks, enhancing SGL’s ability to write profitable new business as well as working on the development of Longevity pricing process and tools and supporting research projects.

Responsibilities

Some of the key areas of responsibility are:

Quote Production:

  • Review and analyse data provided by cedant and highlight any issues that may delay quote production
  • Carry out mortality analysis on client data and suggest quote pricing basis
  • Produce accurate rates within specified timeframes and accurate documentation to support quotes
  • Ensure pricing basis conforms with SCOR Life annuity pricing guidelines that key pricing issues/risks are highlighted early and suggest appropriate adjustments where required
  • Support the Head of Pricing to manage the deal referral process with Group sign-off teams based in Paris, Cologne and Ireland
  • Carry out other ad-hoc longevity pricing work as required

Pricing Process and Tools

  • Manage the development of Longevity pricing process and tools to improve the accuracy, efficiency and insight gained from process outputs
  • Pro-actively suggest improvements to the pricing process and tools
  • Ensure process updates are managed in a compliant and documented manner

Research

  • Support Longevity research projects
  • Assist ongoing innovation of pricing basis which enable SCOR to write profitable new business and develop its product offering
  • Keep abreast of major developments in the Longevity research field and the UK Longevity market

Relationships

  • Provide excellent customer service, both internally and externally, to help deliver the Longevity Team’s objectives
  • Promote the team internally and externally, and educate internal non-specialists about longevity matters as necessary

Change Management

  • Pro-actively suggest improvements in the pricing and support business management process

QualificationsRequired experience & competenciesExperience:

  • Recent life/annuity experience
  • Experience of working with pension scheme data and knowledge of typical scheme rules
  • Experience of conducting mortality analysis

Required Education

  • Educated to Undergraduate degree level in a relevant subject (Mathematics / Statistics / Actuarial Science / Etc…) with an excellent academic record or equivalent.
  • Demonstration of a good process of passing actuarial exams.
