Junior Pricing Actuary
Job Description
A Pricing Actuary to support our Singapore hub P&C reinsurance business sourced from the APAC region (property, engineering, casualty, marine, credit & surety). The role covers all aspects of pricing, model and pricing tool development, market rate knowledge and benchmark analysis as well as specific deal information working closely with the underwriters.This will be a 6 months contract with a potential to be converted to a permanent role
Responsibilities
- Pricing of reinsurance transactions and internal retrocession treaties
- Contribution to growth and profitability
- Supervision and peer review the work of actuaries from other offices/platforms within/outside of SCOR who are engaged to support the renewal seasons
- Close collaboration with the underwriting team, including attending and travelling to client and broker meetings
- Pricing, data analytics, and product development services for our clients
- Reports on pricing and expected profitability for the Underwriting department
- Interaction with Reserving to assure that the output of the pricing process is reflected initially in Reserving and included in the management reports
- Development of studies to improve pricing parameters and to evaluate the profitability of various segments of business
- Support of the development of actuarial tools and methods, including data analytics
- Appropriate utilisation of pricing and evaluation tools
- Networking on actuarial subjects, both internal and external
- Support of the cat modelling team in respect of the creation and the update of nat cat models including testing
Qualifications
Experience:
- Open to fresh graduates
- Reinsurance treaty experience is a plus
- Good communication skills and experience working with underwriters and clients
- Practical work / programming experience in MS Excel, VBA, SQL, R, Matlab, etc.
Personal Competences:
- Strong pragmatic problem solving capabilities
- Good team spirit, inter-personal competency
Required Education
- University degree in Mathematics or a related discipline with strong focus on maths
Duration
- This will be a 6 months contract with a potential to be converted to a permanent role
