Actuarial Technician
Aviva group protection pricing have an exciting opportunity for an Actuarial Technician to join our team. The team have responsibility for managing the financial performance of group protection. The focus of the team is on profitability, costing, risk pricing, reinsurance strategy, management of expenses and any other aspect of group protection’s financial or commercial performance.
The team use product experience and performance to identify trends, deviations from expected and any emerging issues which might affect product costing or risk pricing and then propose and implement mitigating actions. The group protection pricing team is passionate about development, and you will benefit from on-the-job coaching working on group income protection, group life and group critical illness products.
A bit about the job:
- Providing input to and compliance with governance measures
- Supporting system development by providing technical expertise
- Supporting the development of data analytics to maximise use of available data from systems
- Maintaining strong relationships across group protection teams and other contacts
- Supporting the delivery of the group protection strategy through costing, pricing and underwriting philosophy to support key financials
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Good communication skills
- Will actively work as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to work methodically
- Ability to plan and organise work with a range of deadlines
- Strong numeracy, problem solving, analytical and modelling skills
What you’ll get for this role:
- Starting salary between £25,000 and £30,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
