Actuarial Manager (1 Year FTC)
Actuarial Manager – circa £55,000 - 1 year Fixed Term Contract
This is a great opportunity to be involved with bringing the total reported Solvency II results for Aviva’s UK Life business together, understanding the wider picture and helping to present the key messages to senior stakeholders.
A particular focus of the role is to manage the process of consolidating results from a wide variety of teams across the Finance function, reviewing these to ensure that they are fit for purpose, and working with experts to summarise the drivers of change.
It would suit someone with a good knowledge of financial Key Performance Indicators and Solvency II regulations, or someone with a solid grounding in actuarial reporting with enthusiasm to learn and expand their knowledge.
A bit about the job:
The role involves managing a small team to run the processes required to consolidate all Solvency II results – so that the total position for Aviva UK Life can be presented to senior stakeholders for sign-off, prior to onward submission to the regulator and for Aviva’s externally reported results.
The role is important in providing insight into the key messages from the consolidated financial figures for Aviva’s UK Life business, and on the drivers of profit and losses. It involves building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide variety of teams, to enable efficient collaboration with them during the reporting cycle to understand their results.
Outside of the regular quarterly reporting cycles the role supports initiatives across the wider Capital Production and Reporting department – which adds variety to the role and opportunities to learn.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Planning and running a process end-to-end to ensure timely delivery of high-quality financial results and analysis
Understanding of Solvency II financial results and ability to consult on and make judgements regarding results presentation
Risk and control focus to ensure accurate and insightful outputs
Close collaboration with stakeholders across the finance function and wider business e.g., accounting, tax, planning & forecasting, and business partnering teams
Ability to present results to senior stakeholders

Starting salary circa £55,000 depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
