Your role at a glance

We have a fantastic opportunity available within our Financial Risk team as a Reporting Actuary.

This is a varied and interesting role within our L&G Retirement division that comes with a broad remit that will gain you exposure across the business and give you the opportunity to work alongside other teams within the Retirement division and more broadly across the Group.

What you’ll be doing

You will be responsible for the production and analysis of stress and scenario tests (SSTs). These SSTs are produced for both external disclosure and for internal risk management.

  • Providing timely and accurate delivery of IFRS and Solvency II balance sheet sensitivities, including analysis and commentary on movements between reporting periods.
  • Managing the production of MI used to help manage our ALM position, tailoring communication to meet the needs of stakeholders.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders including other teams in L&G Retirement Finance, L&G Retirement Investments and Group Finance. Ensuring communication is clear, concise, and tailored to the needs of stakeholders.
  • Leading the development, implementation and maintenance of the team’s reporting systems and processes. Ensuring systems and processes are robust, with any associated risks assessed and appropriately controlled.
  • Supporting the prioritisation and implementation of methodology changes.
  • Effectively planning the required activities for assigned deliveries; including allocating resources to meet the needs of stakeholders and the maintenance and development of financial risk reporting assumptions and methodologies.
  • Demonstrating an attitude of continuous improvement and taking responsibility for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of specified areas within the team.

What we’re looking for

  • A Nearly/Newly Qualified Actuary (However we are open to more experienced candidates)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in/a good working knowledge of; reporting metrics: IFRS, Solvency II etc., Bulk and individual annuity products, UK finance sector, Risk and regulatory requirements,
  • Highly analytical with the ability to review results for reasonableness
  • Life Insurance experience would be advantageous but is not required
