Actuarial Manager (12 Month FTC)

Salary: National from £36,000-£67,000. London from £45,000-£84,000

This is a great job for someone who enjoys analytical challenges and has SII Capital experience. They will be able to use their skills to help come up with innovative solutions to help the development of the COMPASS tool. They will also be exposed to areas of the business they may not have before such as exposure to UK Life, Mixer and Group businesses.

Please note this is a 12-month secondment into the CMF project to help support the development of COMPASS.

A bit about the job:

The role will involve working proactively with different parts of the project and supporting analysis that will enable solutions to be coded and developed into the tool. Part of the role may also involve supporting the testing work being done to allow delivery to tight timelines.

COMPASS is the new tool launched in the middle of 2021 to calculate Sensitivities and Multi risk scenarios.  COMPASS will continue to expand into new markets and processes over the next 12 months. 

The role can be done from any location (must be within commuting distance of one of our key offices in Bristol, Norwich, York, or London) and under flexible working arrangements including part time working. 

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Qualified actuary (or equivalent by experience)
  • Experience of Solvency 2, Internal Models, and actuarial systems.
  • Strong technical actuarial skills to review and understand impacts and ability to work independently and on their own initiative and know when to escalate.
  • Ability to work innovatively to develop solutions to fresh analytical problems
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills and a willingness to work with colleagues from across the Group
