Actuarial Analyst
We have a number of Permanent and Fixed Term Contract opportunities for Actuarial Analysts across the actuarial reporting, production and capital teams, you will join a supportive and dynamic team and work in a fast-paced environment.
This role would be particularly suitable for an individual who has oar is studying towards an actuarial qualification and has work experience in insurance. We believe this is a great opportunity to cement your actuarial career in an evolving role, backed with the support and resources of one of the UK’s largest insurers.
Aviva has introduced “smart-working”, and the person in this role can be based anywhere in the UK, as long as they are comfortable regularly travelling to our York or Bristol offices.
Key aspects of the role will include some of the following:
Delivering tasks assigned by engagement managers and senior colleagues
Working within required timescales to ensure demands are met, with an awareness of impacts/dependencies on other areas of the business
Supporting any change activity designed to accelerate team processes or respond to regulatory change e.g., automation, IFRS17
Reporting monthly on new business results
Producing financial results and supporting analysis, data and models
Sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues across the department to deliver assigned tasks and enable the flexible resourcing model
Skills & experience we would like to see:
Part-qualified Actuary, although we could consider graduates and nearly qualified actuaries
Financial or regulatory reporting experience (both IFRS and Solvency II) preferred but not essential
Good communication skills, verbal and written – ability to communicate complex issues simply
Ability to work independently and on their own initiative and know when to escalate
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
