Role purpose
We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Risk Actuary to join our team on a permanent basis working Hybrid in our Nether Alderley or Edinburgh site. As Financial Risk Actuary you will help to oversee Royal London Group and its businesses in support to the Financial Risk Director and the Group Chief Risk Officer by providing 2nd line review and challenge to BAU activities including capital management and investment activities. You will also provide 2nd line review and challenge to change projects and undertake thematic reviews for all Financial Risk areas.
Key responsibilities
Essential Criteria
- Qualified Actuary (FIA or FFA) with extensive professional experience within industry or consultancy
- Exposure to either Insurance Risk, Capital Risk or Investment Risk
- Ability to interpret detailed information from several sources of information and data, with the ability to draw conclusions and build an overall picture of trends and potential solutions.
- Ability to provide robust challenge to senior financial professionals in a constructive manner and can work effectively with those being challenged to influence their management of financial risks.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of Solvency II, PRA/FCA requirements as they apply to life and pensions business including regulatory reporting requirements, TCF principles, risk management and capital management, investment, and governance framework matters.
- Knowledge of Risk Management Frameworks within financial services
