Position objectives and position summary (short and detailed definition of most important activities)
- Deliver quarterly valuation results for ASIA business to the relevant Reporting Actuaries, ownership of other reserving tasks such as capital calculations, assumption setting/ testing, Sensitivities, Recapture of business etc.
- Perform end to end process (setting up the runs to analyzing the numbers) to support the ASIA L&H Business Management team valuation.
- Working under multiple reporting regimes: USGAAP, statutory and market consistent valuation (EVM), as well as providing input into the internal risk model and solvency reporting (STAT, IFRS)
- Documentation of the assumptions, model output and quarterly results
- Support the Business Management on strategic priorities.
- Interaction with auditors for data quality & controls.
About Team
We are one of the pioneer team to get into the global valuation processes that Swiss Re has been targeting and involved in end-to-end aspects of Swiss Re ASIA reporting. i.e. starting from Data handling until explaining the movements in reporting figures.
About You (education, linguistic ability, professional experience, leadership qualities, soft skills)
- Advanced actuarial student with minimum 2 to 3 Actuarial papers.
- Around 0 to 2 years of experience in reinsurance, life or health insurance products
- Experience with Actuarial systems, Process and market consistent valuation and/or USGAAP an advantage
- Ability to work and judge independently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good business and financial acuity
- Work with teams across various locations
- Strong technical knowledge, proficiency in working with spreadsheet packages, knowledge of a modelling software would be a added advantage (MoSes, Prophet).
