About the role

 

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will be supporting our Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Property and Casualty lines of business. Corporate Solution is our insurance arm of the Swiss Re brand. This is an exciting and varied role for someone in the early stages of their career looking to gain exposure at a market leader in corporate risks and to develop their pricing and portfolio management expertise. The role will be involved in individual account deal pricing, development and improvement of our pricing models and act as consultant to underwriting on portfolio management and pricing topics for the EMEA region.

 

This is an opportunity to join our team on temporary basis to cover for the maternity leave of a colleague.

 

About the team

 

You will be part of Actuarial Insights, EMEA and will work with colleagues in various functions and locations in supporting deal pricing and the development and refinement of our pricing/costing framework. We are a global team and our members are of diverse nationality and educational background and have strong affinity to working in a dynamic, collaborative and learning environment.

 

Pricing, Modelling and Data Analytics

  • Model and price deal transactions.

  • Run portfolio analysis and develop management reports.

  • Development and maintenance of costing parameters and tools in accordance to Swiss Re Group standards and business needs.

  • Collect, collate and analyse data required for costing model and parameter update studies.

  • Provide training on technical topics and tool usage.

  • Participate in global projects when needed.

 

About you

 

Professional experience

  • Working experience in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment.

  • Working experience in (re)insurance pricing and/or rating model and tool development would be an advantage.

  • Having experience in working in cross team projects would be preferred.

 

Educational level

  • Actuarial qualifications or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics or equivalent quantitative/statistical fields.

 

Language skills

  • Excellent command of the English language. German/French/Italian would be a plus.

 

Technical skills

  • Strong quantitative or statistical background. Deep understanding of actuarial models is a plus.

  • A proven understanding of programming languages such as R or Python is needed as is a passion for programming.

  • Able to review analytical results, derive recommendations and communicate implications to all partners.

  • Able to challenge and defend assumptions, methods and conclusions.

 

Personal Leadership Skills

  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multi-cultural environment.

  • You take own initiative, are open and dependable; and demonstrate collaboration and intercultural competence.

  • You are oriented towards achieving high quality results and demonstrate ability to handle various tasks in a timely manner.

  • Strong client orientation.

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 1 900 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
